Kalpita Karan, PhD

Kalpita arrived from Bangalore, India with a PhD in human genetics of epilepsy. In Martin Picard lab, she combines pharmacological and genetic approaches to understand the role of mitochondrial function in stress and inflammation.

Her translational work in the MiSBIE study investigates mitochondrial functions in leukocytes of patients with inherited mtDNA disorders. Outside of lab, she enjoys experimental cooking and hiking.
